You won't find a single beach in Nueva Vizcaya but the province will show you thair best tourist spot that will take your breath away and you'll quickly forget about its lack of sand and sea. As an adventuress and a nature lover I visited some of their waterfalls pride like Mt. Palali, Senora falls, Uddiawan falss, Mapalyao Falls, Imugan Falls and Lintungan Falls.
The climb to Mt. Palali takes less than an hour for you to enjoy the clear water of the falls. If you have the guts to trek and climb you can see and admire the three other waterfalls above. I visited the Palali a year ago but when I went back last Monday (May 9,2016) I was unable to trek because the mountains in front of the falls was titled "Private Property". And they said that its already considered a dead waterfalls.
I had experienced also their annual Lechon Festival celebreted every September first at Senora falls headed by the devotees of thier late Father Dominador de Guia. it takes an hour to travel from Bayombong (the Capital) to Quezon and several hours of trecking for us to reach Senora falls.
For me, it is the best and the farthest waterfalls I've ever visited.
Uddiawan falls takes us less than an hour to reach it.
The Imugan falls is extraordinary and magical because of the amazing rock formation. We arrived their about minutes from the National highway. The falls is located high up in the Caraballo Mountain range.
And the Mapalyao falls is the nearest and effortless because you can go with any service and around 5-10 minutes walking to reach the breathtaking view of the waterfalls. Passing through a hanging bridge. And expect 3 more waterfalls above. I've been there for how many times because it is the nearest and best place to spend time with family and friends.
And the newly discovered Lintungan falls at Brgy. Runruno, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya. Around 2-3hrs. of travelling from the Capital to Lintungan.
If your tired of treking you can enjoy and swim in the resorts like Tam-an, 24/7, Tatins, PLT, and Highlander.those resorts are best of Nueva Vizcaya.
I also Hangout in Lower Magat eco tourism park at Diadi Nueva Vizcaya. It is located within the 24,000 hectare forestland, the lower eco tourism park has a total land area of 1,120 hectare. It has cottages, picnic huts, campsite, eco trails, zoo, and boating area. Ideal for all ages. You can feel free to relax as you commune with nature.
The Alayan Cave and Capisaan Cave. The mystic Lion-Alayan Cave boats of stalactites and draperies with water gushing towards the underground river.
And the Capisaan Cave system is the 5th longest cave in the Philippines. For you get there, ride a jeep at NVAT (Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal) to Kasibu for 4hrs. Check-in to nearby houses. And start caving at 6pm-10pm. Woke up at 3am beacause 5am is the first and last trip going back to NVAT.
Learn and Educate yourself at Jose Rizal Shrine located at Brgy. Casat, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The shrine serves as a tribute to brave Filipino heroes. 16 patriots can be found throughout the park including for extra question mark statue for the upcoming hero and the most prominent of which is the statue of Dr. Jose Rizal. It is the second largest statue of the Philippine hero.
The view at the top of the park is breath taking because of the green mountains of Sierra Madre and the rice fields of Villaverde.
Nueva Vizcaya also is a Religious province. Lot of them are Catholics. St. Vincent Ferrer Church at Dupax del Sur. Constructed in 18th century, it is one of the biggest and oldest bricks churches in the Philippines.
St. Dominic Cathedral at Bayombong. It is the first Cathedral in the province.
with octagonal bell tower
Another are St. Louis Beltran at Solano and St. Mary's at Bayombong.
You can't avoid food when travelling. So, taste the Cassava and Bibingka pride of Brgy. Curifang. The owner is exporting outside the country and they won and receive different awards in the Philippines. The Buko pie of Brgy. Tuao. The creamy and delicious buko pie of G&B catches my tongue. The scrumptious food at Ricanitas Cafe and Cream and try a bite of some of the food porn at Magic Pan.
